Product Manager - Classics

Purpose (Brief summary of why role exists):

Identify, develop, and implement product opportunities in line with Classic strategy, for the profitable growth of specific category.  Effectively manage the product creation process from Design creation to initial productions, including product briefs, line confirmation, and market adoption.

 

Key Accountabilities (List the 5-10 major areas of responsibility for role):

  • Participate in the development of business plans as they relate to assigned Classic footwear categories.
  • Research against and define strategy consistent with target consumer and overall marketing objectives.
  • Determine product segmentation optimizing both resource and sales opportunities.
  • Interpret and understand consumer dynamics; predict shifts, and react to lifestyle trends.
  • Benchmark competitor product/strategy and analyze sales trends to enable fact based decision-making.
  • Segment product according to defined consumer and trade channel needs.
  • Ensure that product/strategy is effectively communicated to merchandising Hubs/Markets and to support achievement of sales targets.
  • Effectively communicate with counterparts in other product category marketing to ensure integrated approach to category.
  • Clearly articulate target consumer, trade channel, and pricing needs for product briefs.

Qualifications (Minimum required education and experience):  (Examples)

  1. 5 years’ experience in product management, merchandising, or related field.
  2. Knowledge of product creation process is essential.
  3. Bachelor degree in related field
  4. Ability to travel internationally
  5. Strong presentation skills (presenting to large groups expected)
  6. Ability to partner with, collaborate with, and influence internal and external business partners.
  7. Ability to multi-task.
