Manager Inventory Management

Purpose:

The Inventory Manager is responsible for ensuring inventory health, visibility, and commercial availability, connecting physical control at the Distribution Center (DC) with the needs of channels and campaigns. The role balances operational accuracy with sales and margin impact, ensuring transparency and trust in inventory processes, while working cross-functionally with Commercial, Planning, Marketing, and Finance teams.

Key Responsibilities Functional:

 

  • Business Focus
    • Develop inventory projections under different commercial and demand scenarios.
    • Monitor key articles: high rotation, slow movers, last pieces, and coverage by channel/campaign.
    • Ensure timely renewal of concepts and NOS management.
    • Lead Compass Outbound meetings and stock meetings, ensuring visibility and timely decision-making.
    • Manage manual stock allocations for strategic launches.
    • Develop and implement KPIs measuring aging, rotation, coverage, and obsolescence.
    • Prepare executive reports for FLM and Senior Leadership on risks and opportunities in inventory.

 

  • Fulfillment Center Focus:
    • Execute and validate cycle counts and the annual full inventory.
    • Coordinate with 3PL and Finance to ensure reconciliation and inventory accuracy.
    • Plan and supervise slotting, aligning warehousing and picking needs.
    • Manage write-off of scrap and inventory adjustments.
    • Monitor inventories in SAP and WMS (including snapshots), ensuring data integrity.
    • Coordinate resolution of customer complaints related to inventory.
    • Ensure compliance with adidas current inventory policies within the DC.

 

  • KPIs:
    • IRA (Inventory Record Accuracy).
    • E-commerce cancellations – cancellation rate due to lack of stock.
    • COTA / COTIF – Confirmed On Time Available / In Full.
    • Inventory aging – % of stock older than 180 days.
    • Stock rotation and coverage – average days by category/channel.
    • Obsolescence and scrap – % of write-offs and recoveries.

Qualifications:

    • Minimum 3 years of experience in Supply Chain, focused on inventory and/or DC management.
    • Advanced knowledge of SAP and warehouse management systems (WMS).
    • Proficiency with analytical tools (advanced Excel, Power BI, Tableau, or similar).
    • Strong communication skills to interact with Commercial, Finance, and global stakeholders.
    • Intermediate-advanced English for regional interaction.
