- The Director of Planning and Business Development serves as the strategic architect connecting Sourcing Operations with the commercial growth engines of North America and Latin America. transforming operational capacity into a competitive advantage, ensuring that the sourcing footprint is agile, scalable, and perfectly synchronized with our goals across NCAM countries.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
- Represent Sourcing Allocation & Planning in all key processes & systems related strategic initiatives (i.e. FPS, TRANSFORM); actively participate and collaborate with key business partners (GPS, PD, BU Planning, Sourcing Ops, S&P) to ensure a cohesive process architecture.
- Lead the planning team in the
partner groups/OCs ensuring that they fully carry out their expected JD/R&R and that all company standards are met with support from relevant functional heads when needed (including operations/development, material, costing, quality, SEA & ME&I) - Own availability KPI performance and utilize SPIKE framework to drive KPI performance of the managed partners
- Act as the lead orchestrator between Sales/Business Development and Sourcing Operations to ensure that new market demands are feasible within our current or planned supply infrastructure.
- Identify and evaluate emerging business opportunities in North America and Latin America by analyzing market trends, trade shifts (such as nearshoring), and competitive landscapes.
- Develop business cases for new product categories or regional expansion, ensuring they align with the organization’s financial and operational goals.
- Assess the scalability of existing suppliers to determine if they can support new business ventures without compromising quality or delivery lead times.
- Maintain a comprehensive "Heat Map" of the current supplier base capabilities across NCAM, identifying strengths, technical limitations, and untapped production capacities.
- Design and oversee the regional "Supply-Demand" synchronization plan, ensuring the supplier base is prepared for seasonal peaks and long-term growth.
- Promote the regionalization for the markets of the supply chain to reduce landed costs and lead times, specifically leveraging trade agreements (like USMCA, CAFTA) and local incentives in LAM.
- Maintains a flexible organizational structure capable of adapting to changing business needs.
- Present quarterly strategic reviews to executive leadership regarding the "Health of the Region," balancing business growth metrics with supplier performance data.
- Evaluate geopolitical and economic risks in the Americas (e.g., currency fluctuations, labor strikes, or regulatory changes) and develop contingency sourcing plans to protect business continuity.
- Develop and coach team to ensure the best standards of performance, appropriate skillsets and strong succession plans are in place.
- Develop and coach team members and take an active role in driving engagement.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
- Have a wide experience of project management concepts in manufacturing of consumer goods, planning processes, supply chain, demand planning.
- Strategic Planning Frameworks: Familiarity with S&OP (Sales and Operations Planning) and Integrated Business Planning (IBP) processes.

Requisite Education and Experience
- University degree or equivalent in Business Administration, Supply Chain Management, Logistics, Economics, or Engineering or related areas or relevant ‘expert’ work experience.
- Preferred Qualification: a Master’s in a related field is highly preferred
- Minimum 10+ years of relevant business experience and 3+ years of people management experience
