Social & Environmental Affairs Sr Manager
Purpose & Overall Relevance for the Organization:
Supports Regional Director(s) and VP in the execution of Social and Environmental Affairs policies, field coverage activities (monitoring, remediation, special projects, third-party complaints, Worker Empowerment projects (WE), and advocacy work) as assigned. Provides leadership and mentoring for regional field team staff.
Key Responsibilities:
Programmatic
-
Develop strong, functional relationships with key suppliers and internal and external stakeholders.

Assess and develop SEA action plans for suppliers, to ensure compliance with the SEA. Similarly, supervise the independent external monitoring process in partner factories within designated countries or region and conduct periodic updates of factories’ remediation plans.

Assist factory remediation by advising on options, negotiating timeframes, sharing experiences and best practices, and helping management locate the necessary expertise, materials, etc.

Complete social performance evaluations using the S-KPI tool or Compliance Scorecard as applicable. .

Manage and seek resolution of third-party complaints from designated countries or region.

Identify the areas of risk to adidas in respect of working conditions and standards in the supply chain. Provide SEA Team and sourcing recommendations in respect of those risks, based on legal country obligations and SEA requirements.

Engage with business units and factory management in the designated countries to integrate SEA requirements into the larger business practices of adidas.

Provide regular updates to Line Manager, the relevant Country Manager(s) and other business entities, on the status of partner factories and other suppliers, and SEA Team initiatives.

Communicate and escalate any problems and issues to all concerned parties immediately.

Establish contacts and actively engage in dialogue with local NGOs, government bodies and professional institutions, to further the goals and transparency of the SEA program.

Represent adidas SEA Team in designated multi-stakeholder initiatives/collaborations.

Work and support Regional Lead on any applicable regional and/or global Worker Empowerment (WE) or special projects as assigned.

Support Senior Leadership Team (SLT) on review and improvement efforts to SEA related SOPs and programmatic. Develop, create training materials, and provide regular SEA training based on needs to BU sourcing Teams and factories within designated country or countries.

Ensure all relevant sourcing teams at adidas Sourcing Limited (aSL) and subsidiaries heads are fully briefed on the SEA principles and methods of implementation.

Lead Capacity Building efforts for Region.
Administrative

Coordinate translations of various SEA related documents (SEA Guidelines and SOP’s, memos, emails).

Support the reporting and tracking of supplier social compliance data in the respective systems / platforms.

Requisite Education and Experience / Minimum Qualifications:

Bachelor’s degree, preferably in Occupational Health & Safety, Labor Law, Sustainability, Human Rights or related fields.

A minimum of 7 years of experience in managing social compliance in global supply chains

Able to travel: 30-40%
