Key Account Manager - Mercado Libre (Temporary Assignment)
Purpose & Overall Relevance for the Organization
As Key Account Manager (KAM) E‑commerce for Mercado Libre, you will be responsible for driving the growth, profitability, and strategic development of the adidas business across one of our most important pure‑player marketplace partners, covering both 1P and 3P business models.
This role combines commercial ownership, strategic thinking, and marketplace execution. You will work cross‑functionally and directly with Mercado Libre to maximize performance, enhance the consumer experience, and unlock new growth opportunities in a fast‑paced digital environment.
Key Responsibilities
Commercial & Business Management
- Own sales, profitability, and marketplace performance targets.
- Lead business reviews, forecasting, and performance tracking.
- Monitor key KPIs including Sell Out, Conversion, Traffic, Share of Business, ASP, and Margin.
- Identify risks and opportunities and translate them into action plans.
Assortment & Growth Strategy
- Define assortment strategy by category and season.
- Optimize product mix, inventory depth, and productivity.
- Identify assortment gaps and growth opportunities across categories and consumer segments.
- Develop category growth plans and incremental business initiatives with Mercado Libre.
Marketplace Excellence
- Drive improvements in visibility, content quality, ratings, conversion, and consumer experience.
- Lead promotional, campaign, and retail media execution.
- Monitor competitive activity and marketplace trends.
Stakeholder & Strategic Management
- Own the relationship with Mercado Libre counterparts.
- Lead Top-to-Top meetings and Joint Business Planning discussions.
- Coordinate Planning, Operations, Marketing, Finance, and Digital teams to ensure execution excellence.
- Support strategic initiatives related to fulfillment, automation, omnichannel capabilities, and scalability.
Requisite Experience, Knowledge, Skills & Minimum Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in business administration, Marketing, Digital Marketing or a related field.
- Postgraduate studies (MBA, eCommerce, Digital or CRM) are a strong plus.
- 4+ years of experience in eCommerce, Marketplaces, Digital Commerce, Commercial, or Key Account Management roles.
- Strong understanding of marketplace ecosystems and digital business models.
- Strong commercial and analytical mindset.
- Forecasting and business planning capabilities.
- Advanced Excel, PowerPoint, and BI skills.
- Ability to translate data into actionable insights.
- Strong stakeholder management and communication skills.
- Ability to influence cross-functional teams without direct authority.
- Strategic thinking, strong sense of ownership, and execution focus.
- Full professional proficiency in English and Spanish.
