We are hiring a Senior Industrial Engineer with a deep understanding of the DC and warehousing industry, preferably with an expertise in automation systems. This position could sit at one of our DC’s in Rieste/Osnabrück, Germany or Manchester, UK.

 

WHAT YOU ARE RESPONSIBLE FOR:

  • Serve as an outside consultant to warehouse operations by acting as a change agent for the business
  • Make recommendations for investment in new technologies and improvement of efficiency within the warehouse workflow, including warehouse decision making capabilities, workplace safety, and customer service standards
  • Evaluate Labour Management systems including implementation, configuration, analysis of results and development of recommendations to the distribution centre heads
  • Identify and evaluate problems and develop improvements to processes, layouts, internal flows, utilization, packaging material usage and methods of operations within a warehouse environment, making fact based recommendations to the lean organization.

     

    WHAT WE ARE LOOKING FOR:

  • Broad and deep knowledge of engineering and distribution operations combining theoretical and practical knowledge
  • Labour management experience, ideally with Manhattan based application
  • Focus on development and implementation of standardizing distribution centre processes, MHE (Material Handling Equipment) and supplier harmonization
  • Strong project manager
  • Proven ability to lead teams, directly and through matrix relationships
  • Can travel as needed

     

    QUALIFICATONS:

  • Undergraduate university degree in Industrial Engineering or closely related field or relevant warehousing experiences
  • 5 years of engineering work experience in a distribution centre environment
  • 2 years of management experience preferred
  • Labour management experience
