Senior Manager, DC Ops & Lean, SCM

Purpose & Overall Relevance for the Organization:

 

  • This position will facilitate the implementation of the LEAN Management philosophy at in support of goals and objectives. The LEAN Ambassador will drive own initiatives and provide support to the site leadership team in the deployment of LEAN concepts. The LEAN Ambassador will help to identify improvement opportunities and the resources necessary to accomplish planned improvements. The LEAN Ambassador will lead, coach, and mentor multiple improvement teams within the DC to affect rapid change. With Labor Management the toolset of local DC management will be enhanced in the area of labor planning and performance management to contribute to one adidas initiative. This position will also provide general administrative services to DC OPS and relevant departments in an efficient and effective way to facilitate miscellaneous works in warehouse, ensure that all expenses are properly settled with company guideline and policy

 

Essential duties and responsibilities:

 

  • Conduct DC initiative, project, lean and LM to improve DC operations
  • Conduct global initiatives & projects with ownership
  • Assess and analyze productivity, develop and implement improvement strategies
  • Collect & capture information from system to measure performance of warehouse activities
  • Prepare warehouse activities report such as KPI, daily activity, inventory status, etc.
  • Managing the Implementation of MHE with Required Global Alignment
  • Developing Analytical Reports and Presentation Materials for DC Requests
  • Leading and Management of all LEAN topics across the Function as a change agent. Continuously challenge the way things are done. Promote creativity and out of the box thinking.
  • Regularly conduct internal Lean audits to monitor progress.
  • Responsibility for optimal use of Labor Management tool within DC incl. labor planning & performance management
  •  Maintenance of LM tool incl. process analyses & time studies
  • Continuous support of IT teams to ensure that labor management solution provides the optimal outputs & new business requirements are captured
  • Reports to the Regional Lean Manager to align on standardized LEAN implementation (dotted line)
  • Single point of contact (SPOC) for all LEAN related topics in his area of responsibility
  • Manage the implementation of LEAN Management methodology to help the business achieve its goals and objectives. Improvement projects are likely to focus on the cost competitiveness, product availability, lead-time reduction and supply chain network optimization.
  • Support process owners to optimize processes and to focus on key customer requirements.
  • Provide training, coaching and mentoring in LEAN concepts and techniques.
  • Employ leadership and project management skills to ensure projects are completed on time and meet the objectives in the charter.
  • Develop and manage external as well as internal benchmarking partnerships to ensure a regular exchange of best practices in order to get additional ideas for improvements
  • Partner with Industrial Engineers on site. Share and standardize best practices and processes by driving standard work.
  • Support of the project team during the implementation of Labor Management

  • Strong communication, facilitation and presentation skills to all levels of the organization
  • Analytical skills a plus
  • Demonstrated ability to work effectively in a team environment
  • Demonstrated statistical and analytical problem-solving skills

 

Required Education and Experience / Minimum Qualifications:

 

  • Bachelor degree in logistics or in another relevant discipline
  • Minimum 2 years experience in applying LEAN concepts preferred

    Computer skills: MS Office suite, MS Project

    Fluent in English and local language, third language is a plus
