Assistant Designer, WJ/RIM
About the Role
We are seeking a creative and design-driven Assistant Apparel Designer to join our outdoor apparel team.
In this role, you will support the design and development of outdoor-inspired apparel that blends functional sports requirements with contemporary fashion aesthetics, suitable for both outdoor sport scenarios and everyday wear.
Working under the OD (Outdoor) framework, you will help translate performance sport knowledge, lifestyle trends, and consumer insights into commercially relevant products for the Chinese market, contributing to a modern and versatile product offering within our APP ecosystem.
Key Responsibilities
Design & Concept Development
- Assist in designing full-category outdoor apparel, including tops, bottoms, outwears ,down/padded jackets,and seasonal layering pieces.
- Translate design ideas into sketches, flat drawings, color-ups, and basic tech packs for development teams.
- Participate in fabric, trim, and color selection, with attention to performance properties and visual impact.
- Collaborate with senior designers to build cohesive OD product stories.
Trend, Sport & Consumer Insight
- Research outdoor sport, athleisure, and lifestyle sportswear trends across global and local markets.
- Track developments in functional fabrics, stretch materials, moisture management, and lightweight constructions.
- Monitor fashion trends in silhouette, proportion, and color that can elevate outdoor products.
Project Execution & Collaboration
- Support seasonal design execution in line with the product calendar.
- Work closely with Product Development, Merchandising, and Sourcing teams to ensure designs are feasible and cost-aligned.
- Participate in sample reviews, fittings, and performance-related feedback, supporting continuous refinement.
- Maintain clear and organized design files throughout the development process.

Qualifications & Experience
- Bachelor’s degree in Fashion Design, Apparel Design, or a related field.
- 3+ years of apparel design experience, preferably in outdoor products, performance sportswear, or fashion-functional apparel.
- Background or strong interest in outdoor products design is required.
- Women’s apparel or women’s sportswear experience is a advantage.
- Understanding of garment construction, fit for movement, and functional materials.
- Portfolio demonstrating design sensibility, functional thinking, and product versatility.
- Proficiency in Adobe Illustrator and Photoshop.
- Basic working proficiency in English; Mandarin is required.
