Assistant Manager FP&A

Position Summary

The Assistant Manager, FP&A supports financial performance management through high‑quality reporting and data consolidation, contributing to continuous improvements in data visibility, automation initiatives, and enhancement of financial insights delivered to management. This position is also partnered with both finance and business partners to ensure accurate month-end closing, support cost control and forecasting of the assigned business function.


Key Responsibilities

1. Reporting, System Uploading & Master Data Maintenance

  • Prepare business reporting (actual, forecast, budgets) incl. database maintenance, ensuring data integrity, completeness, and consistency across systems and reports.
  • System uploads of required forecast and budget with reconciliation performed by due time
  • Extract and validate data from SAP and other internal systems, ensuring proper financial reflection into daily reports.
  • Drive continuous improvement in reporting, data flow, and process efficiencies.
  • Develop and deploy automation solutions using Power BI, Power Query, Python or other coding tools to strengthen data delivery.
  • Identify opportunities to continuously simplify workflows, streamline processes, and enhance operational excellence.
  • Master Data maintenance (profit centers, cost centers, internal orders).

2. Cost Controlling & Business Partnering

  • Good understanding of P&L structure and cost categories, esp. MaEx (marketing expenses), and back-office OOH (supporting functions overheads).
  • Support cost control, partnering with finance controllers and business stakeholders, in assigned cost planning functions during actual, forecast, budget cycles.
  • Financial governance – Accounting treatment and booking alignment.
  • PR (purchase requests) monitoring, and aged PR clearance
  • Support ad‑hoc analysis and cross‑team projects as required.

3. Financial Month-End Closing & Actuals

  • Coordinate and execute month-end closing tasks: journal entries, accrual validation, system data extraction, actual reports preparation and analytical review.
  • Collaborate closely with Finance controllers, FP&As, Accounting supervisors and GBS accounting teams (GL/AP/AR) to ensure smooth and accurate closing following accounting compliance.

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities

Technical Skills

  • Solid knowledge of SAP (FI/CO), Excel (advanced), PowerPoint, and Power BI.
  • Experience in reporting database creation, management, and data quality control.
  • Automation, coding, and AI abilities are strong plus.
  • Good understanding of P&L structure and cost categories, esp. MaEx (marketing expenses), and back-office OOH (supporting functions overheads).
  • Familiarity with accounting principles, month‑end closing, and financial control processes.

Qualifications

  • Business-fluent English (written & spoken) is a must.
  • Bachelor’s degree or above in Finance, Accounting, Controlling, Data Analytics, or IT‑related field.
  • Minimum 3+ years of relevant experience in FP&A, Controlling, Audit, Data Analytics, or similar roles.
