Assistant Manager Inbound

Key Responsibilities:

 

Operations Management

  • Conduct and control full responsibility on HTS code classifications, CIQ pre-testing management, tariff info, internal and external trade contracts, duty free trade agreements, and equipped with awareness of regulation changes
  • Collaborate with management team to resolve complex trade issues, ensuring full compliance with legal entities and regulatory authorities
  • Drive continuous process improvements aligned with business needs, and proactively manage urgent or special situations with cross-functional teams to deliver effective solutions
  • Continuously stay updated on and proactively learn Customs policies and regulations, and regularly share key updates with the team while conducting training sessions to enhance overall compliance awareness and capability

 

Government Relationship Develop/maintenance

  • Develop/ maintain/update the relationship with China custom authorizations and government bureaus, while actively researching and analysing regulatory changes impacting import/export operations
  • Support AEO annual audit and grade maintenance, ensuring timely renewal of Customs IC cards and required certificates to uphold operational compliance
  • Analysis and share evolving customs policies to ensure adidas inbound operations and related teams remain aligned with regulatory requirements, enhancing overall trade compliance and efficiency

 

Financial

  • Ensure Customs related cost is reasonable and within budget

 

 

System and Processes

  • Apply knowledge of company and departmental policies to resolve operational issues and ensure accurate tracking and timely recording of freight information
  • Produce reports and business updates efficiently while operating across key systems such as Power BI, AFS, HUB Light, TCM, Ariba, Origo, SPM, NOVA and Infor Nexus
  • Support inbound-related projects through follow-up coordination and user acceptance testing for system enhancements

 

 

Key Relationships:

 

Internal

  • SCM cross functional team: China Distribution Center, OmniChannel Fulfillment & Deployment, Product Supply
  • Internal cross functional team: Sourcing, Finance, Tech, Global Product Supply, Global Logistics, Global Customs, Legal, Brands etc

 

External

  • Logistics service providers, factories, system vendor, China Customs authorities, Customs lab etc

 

 

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

 

Knowledge / Experience

  • Strong understanding of Inbound Logistics, Import& Export Customs declaration
  • Experience in Logistics process optimization and project management is a plus

 

 

PC/Language/Other Skills

  • Strong analytical and presentation skills with proficiency in Excel/PowerPoint/BI tools
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills in English

Requisite Education and Experience / Minimum Qualifications:

 

  • Bachelor’s degree, preferably with a supply chain management, logistics or related background
  • 4+ years’ experience in inbound logistics from FMCG or retail industries
