Director FP&A Retail

Purpose & Overall Relevance for the Organization:

This position manages and guides the budget, forecast, reporting and analysis processes for the Retail initiative in China.  The cornerstone activity of this role is to lead planning and analytics in alignment with globally and market defined processes and timelines.  The role also leads the team to provide business managers with timely, accurate and insightful reporting and analysis, which supports them in their business decision-making.  Other responsibilities include providing guidance and analysis for Retail initiatives, such as process development, alignment and continuous improvement, business case development, target setting and tracking, inventory management and other project based or ad-hoc topics.

Key Responsibilities:   

  • Serves as the finance business partner for Retail topics / initiatives
  • Drives the annual budget process
  • Drives the monthly reporting and forecast process
  • Consolidates financial planning and reporting for related operating units as required
  • Drives the analysis of monthly financial results to create insight for business managers across the market
  • Develops and reports key KPIs for ad-hoc, short- and long-term planning in line with local requirements and global standards
  • Provides guidance and analysis for Retail initiatives, such as process development, alignment and continuous improvement, business case development, target setting and tracking, inventory management and other project based or ad-hoc topics.
  • Leads cross-channel inventory management with the development of Retail initiatives
  • Partners with cross-functional teams to provide guidance and analysis of key topics such as investment allocation, pricing and cost efficiency
  • Ensures company adherence to reporting, planning and other controls in line with policy and audit requirements
  • Leads the FP&A team to high performance through day-to-day management, organization planning, performance coaching and feedback
  • Collaborates with the Global Business Services (Dalian) and locally-retained Finance Operations team on reporting, analysis, planning and internal control & audit requirement
  • Collaborates with GCA and HQ Finance teams for regular reporting, analysis, planning and other ad-hoc initiatives

 

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

  1. Experience in running complex, cross-functional processes effectively
  2. Excellent analytical skills to define problems, collect data, establish facts, draw valid conclusions, and determine effective actions
  3. Ability to effectively present information (written form and verbally), respond to questions and influence company leadership and decisions at all levels
  4. Ability to think strategically and develop innovative solutions within an entrepreneurial environment
  5. Experience to execute scenario planning and investment case analysis
  6. Desire and ability to work closely and influentially with Senior Leadership Team at Market and Global level
  7. Ability to coach, manage, align, motivate and develop direct reports and team
