Director Media Planning

Purpose & Overall Relevance for the Organization:

  • Media Planning lead to support all adidas China marketing campaigns (all categories)
  • Lead Media Strategy Development, application of media vision through campaign execution and media agency management, working in tandem with media strategy and operations
  • Day-to-day, this person will have a key role in briefing, planning, execution, ensuring creative fit for media plans, budgeting, reporting and workflow planning in partnership with Brand Marketing, cross-functional teams and media partners

 

Responsibility

  • Set campaign media strategy, lead media negotiation, and manage media budget to ensure delivery of all campaign KPIs
  • Lead agency team (10+ people dedicated to adidas) on campaign execution timeline and post buy learning
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with media partners and stay up to date on media trends for breakthrough opportunities.
  • Manage total media budget and look for opportunities to improve media efficiency by connecting performance media, brand and social investment

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

  • Solid experience in media strategy, media planning, media buying and client service – with digital/social as key focus
  • Understand China Media (especially digital & social) landscape & key platforms
  • Strong in communication. Confident and motivated with high EQ in communicating with various stakeholders, especially Senior Leadership Team
  • Superior writing, research, presentation and organizational/project management skills, including the ability to work on several projects simultaneously with attention to detail
  • Data savvy to obtain media insights, strategy, analysis and recommendations
  • Experience in budgeting, forecasting, internal compliance, and process management

 

Requisite Education and Experience / Minimum Qualifications:

  • 12+ years of experience in media/social related roles
  • 4A media & social agency/ media platform background preferred
  • Prior experience in Sport & Fashion Industry is a plus
  • Fluent in Verbal and Written English
  • Bachelor’s degree or above
