Director eCommerce Buying, Originals

PURPOSE & OVERALL RELEVANCE FOR THE ORGANISATION:

This role is responsible to integrate buying strategy across Inline and Value Range special buy for one consistent consumer experience. Lead the responsible categories in terms of managing merchandising planning, buying in determining platforms, assortment, buy depth, and timely providing sales analysis, trading/fashion trend recommendation to support the business. Play a critical role to drive brand direction, category’s business growth.

 

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

Pre-Season:

  • Lead category assortment by platforms and feedback in GTM key milestones, inline and value range according to different business model and GTM plan.
  • Manage assortment plan for OS, TM, JD, DY, Red and PDD, range forecast on articles level and call out gap if any.
  • Brief in local creation from commercial and channel perspective.
  • Manage buy plan per platform according to buying strategy, top-down financial target, cross check by bottom-up buy with deeply understanding of consumer and market trend.
  • Lead historical analysis in terms of buying structure and provide proposals for pre-season buying structures for platform.
  • Lead detailed analysis on the article level based on existing analysis model, to identify key drivers for top selling articles, as well as slow moving articles.
  • Develop order proposal and distribution plan by each platform.
  • Monitor buying quantity vs. budget, reconcile buy plan to merchandise plan.

 

In-Season:

  • Work closely with cross functional team to monitor ST% and product performance by platform to have quick in-season react actions based on performance.
  • Lead in the process to provide ongoing product and category performance and quantitative analysis.
  • Lead analysis to develop mark down strategy, support markdown and clearance process.
  • Maintain & monitor compliance of pre-season buy as well as planning calendar.

 

Management & Team Development:

  • Responsible to the channel top line, bottom line, seasonal product ST% and MD%.
  • Responsible to the inventory management.
  • Set the KPIs for the whole buying process and team member.
  • Manage, develop and coach team members.
  • Develop key talent and build solid talent pipeline for the team.
  • Lead team engagement.

REQUISITE EDUCTION AND EXPERIENCE/ MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Bachelor’s degree required and advanced degree in business or related fields preferred.
  • Minimum 10 years of work experience in merchandising planning / buying function, at least 5 years in supervisory role.
  • Fluent written and spoken in both English & Mandarin.
