Manager Strategic Planning
Purpose & Overall Relevance for the Organization:
Support & drive GCA strategy development through data synthesis, decision-support analysis and planning processes
Key Responsibilities:
Strategic Planning process
- Contribute to the global and local Strategic Business Planning (SBP) process (e.g., document development, global submissions, communication packages)
- Drive and facilitate the GCA long-term financial planning (top-line and P&L) and develop key initiatives
- Support other regular and ad-hoc strategic planning activities (e.g., commercial projects, market visits, workshops, individual briefings)
Market / competitor data - Assist in the development of data sources and central data repository of market and competitor intelligence
- Assist in the creation and distribution of regular market & business reports to senior management
- Identify key markets developments and ensure implications are considered in planning and decision-making
Data analysis and decision support - Develop financial and quantitative models relevant to strategy planning (e.g., business simulation, revenue projection, market share development)
- Synthesize data and prepare analysis to support senior management decision-making on priority topics (typically working cross-functionally)
Strategic document development
- Develop strategic presentations and business planning documents
- Drive or assist in the development of executive level presentations and reports
External research
- Participate in selected research/strategy projects, to ensure quality outcomes and applicability to the business
Company performance management
- Assist in company and functional KPI setting
- Organize and facilitate commercial performance reviews across departments

- Proper management of strategic planning process and deliverables
- Quality of strategic documents
- Quality of market and competitor data reporting
- Quality of data analysis
Competencies:
- Solid business sense and critical-thinking ability – able to solve problems using both conventional judgment and ad-hoc analysis
- Advanced analytic skills – both quantitative (e.g., financial modeling, data analysis) and qualitative (e.g., market trends, competitor analysis)
- Very strong communication skills – written and spoken English
- Expert MS Excel users – advanced excel user trained and experienced in complex modeling of financials (i.e. P&L, bottom up revenue forecasts)
- Expert MS PowerPoint user – advanced PowerPoint & ThinkCell user with high level story telling abilities
- Mature and credible interpersonal skills– able to quickly build trust and act as an influencer across the organization
- Entrepreneurial – proactively defines goals and attacks them with creativity
- Willingness to learn – a drive to learn about all aspects of the business and develop general management competency
Requisite Education and Experience / Minimum Qualifications:
- Minimum 5-7 years of general business experience (ideally in more than one business function); equivalent experience in leading management consulting firm with strategic planning experience
- Experience with a global apparel / consumer goods brand or retailer is preferred
- Experience in working closely with middle and senior leaders across functions
- University degree or above
- Expert Power Point & ThinkCell user
- Advanced Excel modelling ability
- Basic statistics knowledge
