Purpose & Overall Relevance

The Senior Manager Brand Finance acts as a strategic Finance Business Partner to the assigned Business Unit(s), driving the achievement of margin targets and enabling fact-based decision-making. For each assigned category, this role leads the financial planning and analysis, ensures visibility into product costs and delivers actionable insights to support sustainable growth and profitability across the GCA region.

 

Key Responsibilities

 

Financial Planning & Analysis

  • Supervise budgeting and forecasting for assigned categories, short- and long term.
  • Facilitate monthly Integrated Business Planning (IBP) for assigned Business Units and Channels, ensuring alignment and analysis.
  • Analyze BU financials on a regular basis, highlighting risks, opportunities and focus needs, and deriving recommended action steps

 

Margin & Cost Management

  • Support BU in model / article level margin target setting process in accordance with strategic and financial ambitions
  • Drive achievement of GIM targets, using realized margin as a key qualifier.

 

Business Partnering & Decision Support

  • Enable fact-based decision-making by creating transparency on KPIs (net sales, volumes, margins, range size) in line with business plans.
  • Influence GTM strategies with financial insights that shape assortment planning, pricing, and promotional strategies.
  • Participate in product and pricing tiering decisions from the product development phase. Analyze and simulate pricing strategies to maximize profitability and optimal product mix.

 

Product Segmentation & Distribution

  • Provide product segmentation and distribution insights, including analysis of product and price overlaps.
  • Partner with Demand Planning to lead monthly SP reviews, analyze product mix, pricing effectiveness, and margin gaps, and recommend OTB and shipment impact.

 

Reporting & Analytics

  • Develop and implement communication packages to present derived results, recommendations and solutions. This includes management and execution of standard reporting as well as ad-hoc analysis            
  • In close collaboration with Data & Analytics team, design, develop, implement and further improve reporting and analytical tools (sales velocity, margin contribution, range efficiency etc.)            

 

Project & Stakeholder Management

  • Manage and develop team members and set environment for performance, in particular: develop functional, technical, and social skills within the team (esp. provide guidance and leadership to direct reports, interns, trainees, etc.)
  • Develop effective working relationships with key business stakeholders across GCA and HQ  
  • Create new and improved working methods that significantly contribute to the overall department’s or Business Unit’s success.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

  • Strategic and creative thinking; entrepreneurial mindset
  • Strong analytical skills, facility with numbers, financial modeling, and problem-solving ability        
  • Excellent communication, influencing, and negotiation skills for senior executives, stakeholders, and cross-functional leaders     
  • Adaptability and ability to maneuver in dynamic, consistently changing environments           
  • Ability to operate cross-functionally and understand external business drivers     
  • Deep understanding of international company dynamics, complexity, and interactions            
  • Business fluency in English (written and spoken) 
  • Technical and digital savvy; experience with advanced analytics and reporting tools

 

Education & Experience

  • University degree in Business Administration, Finance, or Controlling.
  • Minimum 5–7 years of relevant work experience, preferably in retail, sporting goods, or comparable industries.
  • Experience in a marketing- or brand-driven environment preferred.
  • Project and/or leadership experience is a plus.
