Senior Manager In-store Communication
Purpose & Overall Relevance for the Organisation:
This role is to
- Drive the "China for China" retail concept creation, leverage flagship stores and pilot initiatives across consumers experience (VM, ISC, service, digital) to deliver locally resonant, on-brand solutions that successfully adapt the global creative vision for the local market.
- Pioneer retail design concepts that forge deeper connections with Chinese consumers, setting world-class standards for the image of the adidas brand in GCA, enable GCA to successfully implement the global vision at every consumer touchpoint.
- Inspire a winning culture and drive operational excellence through Retail design experience team, and collaboration with the HQ teams and other markets
- Interact the Global development & landing of Global new concepts and the optimization of all consumer touchpoints to elevate consumer impact in GCA.
- Promote instore experience as a profit center contributor.
Key Responsibilities:
- Drive the “China for China” concept design creation in VM, ISC, service, digital experience.
- Develop “China for China” concept playbook and tools for GCA to implement the concepts, especially in Customer journey, zone plan, VM configuration, brand moment, and long-term ICS props.
- Elevate store attraction and the in-store experience through artistic installations and sophisticated brand expressions. This strategy is designed to boost satisfaction among both customers and local partners.
- Conceive and innovate service experiences that set market trends, thereby enhancing brand loyalty and awareness.
- Become the Market communication counterpart for the Global HQ VM/ISC team
- Leverage insights into China's retail market trends and consumer behavior to localize and execute the global concept strategy in the GCA market.
- Validate global deliverables on current and future key store concepts, VM/ISC and Consumer Experience elements are in line with China input
- Drive strong partnership with local execution team ensuring brand look and feel lands correctly in key stores across China.
- Interact VM/ISC execution across channels and formats according to concept guidelines
- Drive the design review & approval process cross key stakeholders for flagship stores/ new concept pilots, as well as manage the approval process with Senior Leadership Team if required
- Continue to optimize & develop a stronger creative design vendor pool with NTP, ensuring high quality of delivery to the China market.
- Establish and maintain process driven and solution-oriented communication with key stake holders.
- Takes ownership for Talent Management processes to grow, develop himself/herself and closely touch base with line manager to retain talents.
- Promote a high-performance culture by aligning clear expectations and individual goals with line manager
- Translate the company goals into specific actions and business plans. Self-control and take care of self-performance and results
- Additional projects as agreed

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
- Proven track record in new store environment / concept creation and development.
- Deep knowledge in customer experience, in-store communication, retail visual merchandising, combing theoretical with practical experience.
- Ability to deeply interpret brand positioning, core values, and target audiences, and translate abstract brand narrative into physical space design and immersive experiences.
- Strong organisation skills and flexibility.
- Specialist in technical skills.
- Proven track record in project management.
- English fluent: verbal, written & spoken. Another European language is an advantage.
- IT: Advanced in Adobe and Microsoft Office, Sketchup is an advantage.
Requisite Education and Experience / Minimum Qualifications:
- Design or Marketing Degree.
- 6-10 years’ experience in customer experience, marketing creation or retail visual merchandising including fashion retailing.
- 2+ years working with Global markets or 1+ years working in a top tier adidas market.
- 2+ year’s management experience.
