Senior Manager Retail CS Buying
PURPOSE & OVERALL RELEVANCE FOR THE ORGANISATION:
Lead the responsible category and determine which merchandise to buy (article selection), how much to buy (article depth) and where the merchandise needs to be (in which regions/formats/clusters/stores) and timely providing sales analysis, trading/fashion trend recommendation and in-season action to support the business. Play a critical role to drive brand direction, category’s business growth.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
Pre-Season & In-Season Buying :
· To develop overall seasonal buy strategy for responsible div/cat per format/cluster according to buying strategy, top down financial target, and deeply understanding of fashion trend and consumer.
· Based on existing analysis model to provide detailed analysis on the article level to identify key drivers for top selling articles, as well as slow moving articles.
· Lead team to collaborate with BU, Ops, Planning, DP etc to deliver pre-season buy results following GTM milestone meanwhile keep adjusting the in-season buy through monitoring in-season performance and product opportunity.
· Monitor buying quantity vs. budget; reconcile buy plan to merchandise plan.
Assortment Planning:
· Create assortment plans by format/store clusters based on option plan, local needs & considered store differentiation.
· Create detailed product & store segmentation/cluster by Product segment & store segmentation
· Integrate with BC and RM into c/c campaign planning with right mandatory package to build up at cluster level
In-Season Buying Execution :
· Closely monitor ST% and product performance by region and store format, to have quick in-season actions based on performance.(recommendation on IA and replenishment, chase, product transfer etc.)
· Timely and closely work with Ops, RA, RE etc. and lead in the process to provide ongoing product and category performance and quantitative analysis to find business opportunity
· Provide analysis to develop mark down strategy and support markdown and clearance process.
· Maintain & Monitor compliance of pre-season buy as well as planning calendar
Post-Season Review:
· Provide analysis and documentation for post-season review.
· Provide seasonal deep dive analysis.
· Partner with X-function team to develop action steps for next season.

Training
· Participate in systems training.
· Participate in Products seasonal presentation and technology training as well as merchandising training.
People Management
· Lead team in daily performance.
· Coach team members & newcomers to improve merchandising knowledge.
Others
· Other job-related work assigned from Line Manager.

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES:
- Solid Data analyzing know how, with x- cross functional experience,
- Product Management or Merchandising experience
- Have knowledge about sneaker culture and sensitive with fashion trend.

REQUISITE EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE AND OTHER SKILL
- University advanced degree
- Minimum 8 years’ experience in merchandising planning / buying function, has team management experience.
- Great understanding of retail business
- Effective partnering, communication, and influencing skills (written and orally) –someone who can proactively communicate analysis/methodologies with functional partners and influence them to rethink and change their existing practices
- Prefer very good Excel modeling skills and ability to develop useful models/tools that can be rolled out to merchandising and retail teams
