Y-3 Assistant Manager
Role Overview
The Y-3 Assistant Buying Manager supports the day-to-day execution of the Y3 buying function across apparel, footwear, and accessories. A core responsibility for this role is strong data accuracy, system management, and sample organization to ensure smooth buying operations. The role includes preparing assortment tools, maintaining product data, tracking business performance, and coordinating samples for all key buying and GTM moments.
The ideal candidate is highly organized, detail driven, and comfortable managing data, samples, and administrative tasks, with a growing interest in premium/luxury fashion.
Key Responsibilities
1. Seasonal Buying and Operational Support
- Assist in preparing and maintaining buy tools, line lists, size curves, and pricing files with high data accuracy.
- Manage all system entries and product data updates across internal platforms.
- Coordinate sample management — tracking, organizing, storing, and preparing samples for showrooms, reviews, and photoshoots.
- Support range framework creation and ensure all seasonal documentation is up to date.
- Prepare product information for GTM tools, presentations, and crossfunctional meetings.
2. Product & Consumer Insight
- Conduct competitor shopthroughs and trend monitoring across luxury and streetwear markets.
- Track consumer insights through retail, eCom, and marketplace feedback.
- Summarize findings into clear reports to support buying decisions and product creation input.
- Assist in identifying assortment gaps and opportunities based on observed trends.
3. Business Analysis & Reporting
- Maintain weekly and monthly business performance dashboards.
- Analyze sellthrough, inventory levels, SKU productivity, and margin data.
- Provide report summaries and highlight risks/opportunities to the Buying Manager.
- Support in-season management through data-driven replenishment and reallocation recommendations.
- Ensure system data integrity across pricing, attributes, categorization, and article status.
- Track product delivery status & work with global + local supply chain to ensure smooth logistics.
4. Cross-functional Coordination
- Work closely with planning to support OTB alignment through updated product data.
- Collaborate with retail and eCom teams to ensure correct assortment and launch execution.
- Provide product information and updates to merchandising, marketing, and VM partners.
- Coordinate materials for GTM milestones, line reviews, and internal alignment sessions.
5. Marketplace Execution & Excellence
- Support accurate product launches across all channels by ensuring pricing, images, attributes, and samples are correct and on time.
- Ensure assortment accuracy in-store and online, resolving discrepancies quickly.
- Help track distribution flows and monitor product readiness across markets.

Key Skills & Experience
- 2–4+ years in buying, merchandising, planning, or product/data operations within fashion.
- Strong proficiency in Excel and comfort working with large datasets with accuracy and attention to detail.
- Experience with internal merchandising or product systems preferred.
- Excellent organizational skills, especially in managing physical samples and product rooms.
- Strong product sensibility and interest in luxury, premium, and streetwear markets.
- Experience in retail merchandising, retail operations, or CRM is preferred.
- Strong communication and teamwork capabilities.
