Specialist designer sportswear footwear (Entry Level)

Purpose:

 

As a Footwear Designer in the Sportswear team, you will support the creation and development of trend-right, consumer-relevant footwear products that reflect adidas’ design language and brand values. You will contribute across all design phases—from concept ideation and sketches to technical drawing and sample development—while learning from senior designers and collaborating with cross-functional teams.

 

Key Responsibilities:

  • Support seasonal design projects by developing concepts, sketches, and visual presentations.
  • Conduct trend research, market analysis, and consumer insight gathering to inform design direction.
  • Create accurate technical drawings, color-ups, and material selections for new footwear designs.
  • Collaborate closely with product managers, developers, and material teams throughout the design and sampling process.
  • Assist in preparing design presentations for internal reviews and milestone meetings.
  • Ensure alignment with the overall seasonal creative direction and brand identity.

 

Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Industrial Design, Footwear Design, Fashion Design, or a related field.
  • 1–3 years of experience in footwear or related product design (internships included).
  • Proficient in Adobe Illustrator and Photoshop
  • Strong sketching, visualization, and storytelling abilities.
  • Interest in sportswear, streetwear, and global design trends.
  • Strong communication and collaboration skills; ability to work in a multicultural, fast-paced environment.
  • Fluency in English; Chinese language skills are a plus.
