Retail In-Season Trading
Purpose of the role
Retail In season Trading is responsible for managing inventory planning, stock consolidation, business analysis, and merchandising activities to optimize product availability and sales performance. This role serves as a key liaison between Retail Buying, Retail Operations, and store teams, ensuring efficient execution of merchandising strategies while identifying opportunities and risks in-season to drive business growth.
Primary Responsibilities
- Business Performance Analysis & Action Planning
- Analyze store business performance and translate insights into actionable plans for improvement.
- Identify in-season opportunities and risks against the plan, providing recommendations to enhance results.
- Provide fact-based product input and feedback for internal and external stakeholders, both pre-season and post-season.
- Inventory & Stock Management
- Monthly capacity planning
- Monitor replenishment forecasts and orders, offering guidance to Retail Buying and Operations teams.
- Execute and oversee end-of-season stock management, including the Product Life Cycle (PLC).
- Manage CS Stock Consolidation, stock markdowns, and PLC pull-out lists in coordination with OMNI.
- Track and facilitate store return shipments, ensuring accurate feedback and confirmation.
- Reporting & Data Management
- Generate and maintain key reports, including SOH, Top 20, and Blackhole reports.
- Track processed DN updates daily as a reference for confirmed SO.
- Extract and analyze size curve data for future season buying and product breakdown.
- Ensure pricing accuracy by managing price worksheets and markdown postings.
- Operational Coordination & Issue Resolution
- Conduct store visits to assess business trends and gather feedback.
- Lead delivery discrepancy investigations, consolidating feedback and finalizing resolutions.
- Manage Aspen tickets related to missing SOs, pricing issues, and product discrepancies.
- Attend IMM meetings to discuss inventory status with Operations.
- OMNI & Promotional Strategy Execution
- Maintain the OMNI calendar and execute ORT order placements.
- Provide ST reports requested by OMNI, including Local Hype Sell-Through performance.
- Activate and upload promotional articles while ensuring accurate product pricing.
- Support merchandising workshops for future season planning and strategy development.
- Digital Network (DN) & Virtual DN Management
- Track and manage DN transactions, ensuring monthly reporting and pending DN analysis.
- Create and process Virtual DNs in ALS when applicable.
- Process BGrades and coordinate DN requests with operations for pending articles.
Professional background/ Experience
- Bachelor’s degree in business, Merchandising, Supply Chain, or a related field.
- Experience in inventory planning, merchandising, or retail operations.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with a data-driven mindset.
- Proficiency in Excel, data visualization, and reporting tools.
- Excellent communication and collaboration skills to work cross-functionally.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced retail environment.
