Senior Manager, Corporate Communications SEA

Purpose & Overall Relevance for the Organization:

 

  • Define and drive the overall communications strategy for the SEA business, acting as a trusted strategic advisor to the SVP GM and Senior Leadership Team (SLT).
  • Shape the organization’s reputation, strengthen internal alignment, and position the business as a leader within the cluster and wider market through compelling business storytelling across internal and external platforms.
  • Play a key role in the wider Emerging Markets (EM) Corporate Communications team, with priority focus on the important SEA cluster.

 

Key Responsibilities:

 

Internal Communications Leadership

 

  • Own and execute a comprehensive internal communications strategy that supports business objectives and cultural alignment.
  • Drive communication planning and delivery across major sports events and sponsorship activations, key campaigns and product launches, quarterly results and All Employee Meetings, business updates, strategic initiatives, transformation programs, HR initiatives, workplace programs, and employee engagement efforts.
  • Ensure consistent, engaging, and impactful messaging across all internal channels.

 

Strategy Leadership & Advisory

 

  • Serve as a strategic advisor to the SVP GM and SLT on communications, positioning, and reputational matters.
  • Provide counsel on complex and sensitive issues, ensuring consistent and effective messaging.
  • Contribute to the broader EM communications strategy and lead regional or cross-market projects.
  • Build communications capability within the business and contribute to best-practice sharing across EM.
  • Partner cross-functionally with SLT, EM, Brands, HR, and other key stakeholders.
  • Influence senior stakeholders and drive alignment on communication priorities and messaging.

 

Brand Storytelling and Reputation Management

 

  • Own the development of compelling business narratives that reflect the organization’s strategy, values, and performance. Strengthen cluster positioning through integrated storytelling across markets and stakeholders.
  • Elevate leadership visibility through strategic messaging and content development.
  • Own and drive external corporate communications opportunities to enhance brand visibility and corporate positioning.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with key media stakeholders, leveraging established networks where possible.
  • Lead proactive PR and media engagement strategies, including thought leadership, press coverage, and reputation-building initiatives.
  • Support corporate relations engagements with government, partners, industry bodies, and other stakeholders as required, ensuring alignment with corporate messaging and positioning.
  • Lead issues and crisis communications strategy, preparedness, and response in partnership with the Director, Corporate Communications EM.
  • Develop frameworks and protocols for managing reputational risks and sensitive topics.
  • Ensure timely, transparent, and effective communication during high-impact situations.

Requisite Education and Experience / Minimum Qualifications:

 

  • Bachelor’s degree in Communications, Public Relations, Journalism, or a related field.
  • 10–12 years of progressive experience in corporate communications, public relations, brand communications, or a related discipline, including at least 5 years at management level.
  • Proven experience advising senior leadership and managing high-level stakeholder relationships.
  • Experience in multinational or matrixed organizations is highly advantageous.
  • Strong understanding of South East Asian cultures and social media trends is a significant advantage.
  • Demonstrated ability to lead crisis communications and manage reputational risk.
