Senior Accountant (Bulgaria)

Purpose of the role
Pillar of rock-solid financial accounting and reporting for adidas Bulgaria, ensuring accurate month-end/year-end close, statutory and group reporting, and strong compliance with IFRS, local GAAP and tax regulations.
What you will do

Build strong understanding of company processes and how transactions are recorded through SAP and reflected in adidas Bulgaria financial statements.

Coordinate and verify postings in the financial ERP system, ensuring compliance with adidas Group requirements and local legal provisions.

Actively ensure sustainability of the local GAAP books and General Ledger structure, driving high-quality accounting outcomes.

Prepare and deliver month-end/year-end statutory and group activities, including posting complex business transactions in line with statutory and group legislation.

Perform detailed internal and external reconciliations across P&L and balance sheet accounts, identify deviations, and drive corrective actions where needed.

Support preparation of key financial outputs and analysis (e.g., P&L, balance sheet and cashflow insights) and provide clear explanations of movements and corrections.

Support Group Taxes and external partners (e.g., Deloitte) on tax compliance and audits (VAT, Intrastat, CIT return preparation, WHT declarations), validating accuracy and completeness of outputs.

Secure tax-compliant internal processes and ensure that all taxes and charges are paid in full and on time.

Collaborate with Global Business Services (GBS) to ensure correct accounting and payment postings, proactively raising requests and clarifying corrections needed when issues are identified.

Participate in finance-related ERP implementation, testing, and modification projects and proactively collaborate with the SEE Finance team.
Skills you will need

Strong accounting knowledge of IFRS, local GAAP and tax legislation.

Strong understanding of end-to-end accounting and finance processes, including reconciliations and month-end close activities.

Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret P&L and balance sheet movements and propose corrections where required.

Minimum 5 years of accounting experience, preferably in a multinational environment.

Experience supporting preparation of financial statements and financial reporting activities.

SAP knowledge is preferred but not mandatory (ability to learn quickly is essential).

Advanced experience with MS Word, MS Excel, MS Outlook.

Professional English (written and spoken).
