Clerk, DC Operations

Purpose: The IC Clerk will control the flow of work in/out of departments and help to foster a safe and productive work environment. The person(s) in this position will be cross trained to all facets of the distribution operation. They will help drive continuous improvement initiatives and cost savings as well as assist supervisors where and when needed.

 

Key Responsibilities:

  • Responsible for overseeing physical inventories/cycle counts/random or receipt audits/reconciliations
  • Initiate action to prevent the occurrence of any non-conformities relating to product, process, and quality systems
  • Identify and record any issues or discrepancies relating to product, processes and/or quality including tracking and reporting non-conforming product
  • Initiate, recommend, or provide solutions through appropriate channels
  • Manage the WIP report and any other reports pertaining to their particular tasks, track their areas rushes and priorities as well as perform any necessary cycle counting
  • Ensuring all labeling requirements is met in a timely manner
  • Integrate efforts across operational departments to enhance inventory accuracy
  • Contribute to a safe and orderly working environment
  • Identify, report, and follow up on any property damage or safety concerns
  • Participate in Lean Six Sigma activities
  • Other duties as assigned

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

  • Using all available tools, such as computer and reporting, to be able to find the root causes of issues and coming up with a viable solution
  • Analytical/computer skills including Intermediate Microsoft Excel skills, pivot tables and basic formulas.
  • Willing to work on ideas, ask questions and/or bring about positive change
  • Utilize strong interpersonal skills to work well with others and be able to communicate fluently in English via phone, email and in person
  • Effectively manage work time in order multi-task
  • Regularly required to talk or hear; sit, stand, or walk; use fingers, hands, arms and feet to feel, handle, grip, grasp, lift, operate, push and pull for up to twelve (12) hours/day
  • Ability to work in a warehouse environment with varying temperatures
  • Ability to reliably attend work/scheduled hours
  • Occasionally required to sit; bending, twisting, climb or balance; lift and carry items such as boxes weighing up to fifty (50) pounds; and stoop, kneel, or crouch

 

Requisite Education and Experience / Minimum Qualifications:

  • High school education or GED equivalent required
  • Demonstrated experience in a warehouse/distribution environment preferred
  • Inventory Control experience preferred
  • Maintaining of a product identification and location program a plus
  • Ability to work overtime and weekends as required
