Assistant Manager, Transportation
Purpose & Overall Relevance for the Organization:
• Oversee daily transportation operations and site management to ensure smooth functioning of the Distribution Center (DC).
• Provide analytical support for TMS /customer databases, storage shipments, and transportation-related KPIs; assist in troubleshooting issues within TMS and MA systems.
• Contribute to Supply Chain Management (SCM) projects and related functions to enhance service levels, customer satisfaction, logistics capacity, and transportation processes.
Key Responsibilities:
• Manage on-site transportation operations for transportation flows, including monitoring 3PL performance, vehicle activities, and goods handover processes.
• Ensure timely dispatch from the Distribution Center (DC). Facilitate cross-functional and 3PL communication regarding shipping schedules and forecasts to
• Track in-transit shipments and provide special tracking for hard launches to ensure On-Time-In-Full (OTIF) delivery;
• Ensure customer satisfaction including but not limited to collecting customer feedback on arrival and handover (e.g., GIT and SWC tracking).
• Handle exceptions and arrange special transportation needs, such as trade meeting sample deliveries and IT equipment shipments for new retail store openings.
• Ensure Regulation Promote safety awareness among 3PL teams and conduct random audits to assess safety performance.
• Provide onsite cost reports to support transportation cost analysis by ensure data accuracy and timely input in TMS and other reports needed.
• Collaborate with the DC teams to identify and implement LEAN savings opportunities.
Key Relationships:
• Internal: DC Planning, DC Ops, Order Book Fulfillment, Marketing, Retail, IT, Finance, internal customers
• External: 3rd party Logistics Service Providers, external customer’s logistics and warehouse
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
• Demonstrated understanding of processes and systems of domestic China transportation, at a large scale across all geographic areas.
• Skills with an emphasis on communications, both externally and internally, across multiple functions
• Self-motivated, open-minded and able to work independently and under pressure with minimal supervision
• Strong customer-service orientation
• Onsite labor management and crisis management
Requisite Education and Experience / Minimum Qualifications:
• Bachelor’s degree and above
• 5+ years of directly related experience in logistics (experience in site management in sportswear industry would be a plus)
• 3rd party Logistics management experience is preferred
• Basic skills in English and Mandarin
