Assistant Manager Project

Purpose & Overall Relevance for the Organization:

The Assist Manager, Global distribution will support Director PMO to plan, coordinate and manage global distribution projects in GCA area and ensure a successful implementation journey. The role will also lead independently in managing projects of reasonable scale.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Support PMO in developing and implementing processes, policies, and procedural improvements.
  • Support PMO to successfully deliver the assigned global and x-functional projects, end-to-end, ideally through applying PMI/a standardized methodology effectively.
  • Support PMO on the execution of completion of the defined project plan through effectively coordinating people and resources.
  • Maintain Risk, Issue& Actions tracker to ensure activities are well assigned and executed and project in healthy condition.
  • Working with internal and external partners to ensure project payment & delivery schedule is on track by well planning, tracking and execution of PR, PO and GR.
  • Ensure contract schedule is on time by coordinating GBS, procurement, finance, legal and other functions if needed.
  • Support project regular meetings with PMO and workstream leaders.  
  • Development of communication materials required for all projects and mgt approvals.
  • Develop and foster effective working relationships with project stakeholders at each workstream.
  • In partnership with internal and external partners, partially lead and support project & financial reporting.
  • Provide the GD Team with additional support as needed.

  • Finance, Procurement, HR, Legal, GBS
  • External suppliers and subcontractors

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

  • Excellent English language skill, both verbal and written, and the ability to effectively communicate with internal stakeholders globally
  • Excellent Excel, PowerPoint and presentation development skills
  • MS project (MPP) skill and PMP certification will be a plus.
  • Ability to create reports in a presentable manner to multiple different stakeholders.
  • Self-directed personality and well-organized working habit, competent to work in a flexible environment. 
  • Exemplary multi-tasking and time management skills 
  • Strong team player and the ability to work with diverse groups of people productively.
  • Strong ability to organize and maintain data / Problem solving and analysis skills.

Requisite Education and Experience / Minimum Qualifications:

  • Accredited college or university with emphasis on the areas of business, economics, logistics, planning, supply chain, information systems, or operations; MBA is a plus.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills. Ability to work under pressure and on tight timescales.
  • +5 years of work experience, ideally in an apparel/fashion supply chain management or a fast-moving logistics environment, particularly related to DC operations, supplier/contract and supply chain management.
  • +3 years of project management experience with the drive and energy to implement change
