Manager Data and Analytics
ABOUT THE ROLE
The Adidas Japan Data & Analytics – DNA team is looking for a Manager Data & Analytics to lead the design and delivery of scalable analytics solutions, such as demand forecasting and margin analysis, across areas including Supply Chain and Wholesale.
To be successful in this role, you will need to understand Japan's business needs, processes, and ways of working, and integrate these with the latest technologies to deliver top-tier analytics, data solutions, and process designs. You will independently collaborate with multiple stakeholders to deliver advanced analytics services, enabling them to make data-driven decisions.

ABOUT THE TEAM
In this role, you will join the Adidas Japan DNA team, which includes Data Analysts, Data Engineers, and Data Scientists. You will lead projects within various channels such as eCommerce, Retail, and WHS, managing stakeholder communication within these areas. Collaborating closely with engineers and scientists, you will ensure seamless integration of all data components.
Our current projects focus on business monitoring, demand forecasting, inventory management, and buying volume optimization. We emphasize continuous learning, providing internal mechanisms for team members to enhance their expertise and stay updated with the latest advancements – business and tech. Our goal is to be at the heart of Adidas Japan's data journey, ultimately empowering our customers through enhanced data capabilities.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
- Design and develop scalable Business Intelligence and automated reporting solutions that enable teams across the business to make data driven decisions.
- Work closely with business partners to translate business requirements into technical solutions.
- Develop and maintain automated data pipelines and core BI infrastructure.
- Support strategies for data accessibility, management, quality, and availability, aligning with will local and global compliance.
- Present analysis results to colleagues at all levels, helping them understand and apply insights.
- Identify opportunities for data process enhancements and automation.
REQUIREMENTS
1. Education & Professional Experience
- University degree in the field of Business, Information Technology or equivalent
- Over 5 years of experience in data management and analytics
- Proficient in spoken and written English is a must
- Proficiency in spoken and written Japanese is preferable
- Experience in working in diverse and global teams is preferable
2. Hard-Skills
- Experience with data modeling, warehousing and building ETL pipelines
- Expert in using SQL to extract data from databases or data warehouses
- Skilled in scripting language (Python, R, etc.) applied to data processing and modelling
- Proficient with data visualization tools such as PowerBI, Tableau or similar tools - Power BI knowledge preferred.
- Knowledgeable in advanced technical statistical methods and analytic techniques - regression, predictive modelling, segmentation/cluster analysis, etc.
3. Soft-Skills
- Passionate about delivering data-driven recommendations to achieve measurable business improvements.
- Strong project management skills, capable of leading two to three projects simultaneously. Experience with agile frameworks e.g., Scrum, Kanban, etc.
- Excellent communication skills, able to present complex topics to stakeholders at various organizational levels, both in person and remotely.
- Demonstrates mature and credible interpersonal skills, quickly building trust at all management levels and acting as an influencer across the organization.
- Possesses solid business acumen and critical-thinking skills, adept at solving problems using both conventional judgment and ad-hoc analysis.
