Purpose & Overall Relevance for the Organization

  • Act as a key connection point between Retail, FP&A, and Demand Planning to align business strategies and financial targets.
  • Enable MD and Retail teams through data‑driven insights and cross‑functional support, contributing to the achievement of retail business and financial goals.
  • Support the Sr. Manager Retail Merchandising Planning in owning the channnel marchandise financial planning process. 

 

Key Responsibilities 

Execute the following responsibilities in close collaboration with MD and relevant Retail team members.

Pre-season

  • Support the creation IBP by season and category, ensuring alignment with Retail strategy, Brand direction, and financial targets.
  • Support the creation category AO drafts based on historical analysis (*Range / Item / Productivity), making adjustments as needed and managing them appropriately to ensure alignment with Brand direction.
  • Prepare and support GTM Process–related deliverables and milestones.
  • Manage OTB plans by season, by month, and by sales plan in collaboration with FP&A and Demand Planning teams.
  • Support category-level capacity planning based on factual data and insights.

In-season

  • Monitor and analyze sales performance to identify risks and opportunities and incorporate insights into IBP updates.
  • Manage OTB updates to reflect historical trends and optimized forecasts.
  • Prepare category sales analyses and provide updates  as needed, supporting cross-functional visibility.
  • Support in-season inventory volume optimization based on data to improve store and channel productivity.
  • Provide PBI-based insights and data support for in-season store capacity adjustments by category.

Post-season

  • Support company-wide stock level management by leveraging the FO channel, providing data and insights to align with financial target adjustments such as lower margins to accelerate stock reduction.
  • Review the season’s performance and extract key learnings, providing insights to inform planning and decision-making for the next season.

Requisite Education and Experience / Minimum Qualifications

  • Bachelor degree in Business or equivalent professional experience
  • Strong capabilities in data analysis, forecasting, and OTB planning
  • Experience in Merchandising Planning is preferred
  • Fluent in Japanese
  • English capability is an advantage.
