Senior Manager Corporate Communication

Purpose:

Corporate Communication helps adidas to create distinctive and appealing images with its stakeholder groups, build a strong, trusted corporate brand ("the company behind the brands") and develop reputational capital. The team positively enhances the company’s reputation with inspiring content derived from the company’s strategy, consistent messaging, impactful distribution via state-of-the-art channels and relevant employee engagement activations.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead and execute Japan’s Corporate Communications strategy, with a strong focus on internal communications aligned with global priorities and local business needs
  • Partner closely with the Managing Director and Senior Leadership Team to understand business priorities and deliver impactful leadership communications
  • Own end-to-end planning and execution of All Employee Meetings, monthly business updates, and executive communication platforms, while localizing and amplifying global CEO and Town Hall messaging to drive engagement and collaboration
  • Develop compelling employee storytelling through internal communication channels and owned/shared media to highlight key events, activations, and campaigns
  • Drive continuous improvement of internal communication channels, events, and digital platforms to maximize reach, engagement, and effectiveness
  • Lead Japan’s charitable giving and volunteer initiatives by partnering with global teams, managing external partnerships and donations, ensuring compliance, and amplifying impact through storytelling
  • Collaborate closely with global Corporate Communications, Digital, and Content Creation teams to ensure aligned and seamless execution of communication strategies and campaigns
  • Support and contribute to the achievement of the global Corporate Communications strategy

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

  • Strong understanding of business and corporate communication topics
  • Ability to work effectively in a fast-changing, cross-functional environment
  • Strategic mindset with the ability to translate strategy into operational plans
  • Strong executive presence and stakeholder management skills
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Strong organizational, project management, and event planning capabilities
  • Native-level Japanese and business-level English, both written and spoken
  • Proven writing and editing skills for internal communication channels
  • Open to new ways of working, with hands-on experience leveraging AI tools

Requisite Education and Experience / Minimum Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent in Business, Communications, Journalism, Marketing, or a related field
  • 8–10 years of experience in corporate/internal communications; agency experience is a plus
  • Proven experience leading cross-functional projects and managing communication initiatives end-to-end
  • Minimum 2 years of people management experience
  • Experience partnering closely with senior leaders and developing leadership communications preferred
  • Experience leading or supporting corporate social contribution/CSR initiatives is a plus
