Retail District Manager - West, Vancouver, BC Canada

Purpose & Overall Relevance for the Organization:

District Manager drives the performance of all Canada Retail stores within a designated region to optimize consumer and associate experience and meet financial objectives. Responsible for directing, managing and supporting retail teams to deliver a premium brand experience across entire consumer journey.

 

Key Responsibilities / Authorities:

  • Full ownership of stores profit & loss performance within region
  • Drive culture of small business ownership with Store Managers, balancing fiscal responsibility with talent development, consumer engagement and experience, and empowering leadership
  • Work with store teams to balance the strategic priorities with locally nuanced tactical needs to drive impact on the consumer and surrounding community
  • Drive performance culture of the 4 Ps: people, process, presentation and premises
  • Deliver a relentless focus on service excellence through Connect, Engage, Inspire leadership with frequent presence on the sales floor and back-of-house stock room
  • Direct full adoption of processes and tools to drive performance while seeking insights for continuous improvement
  • Guide the delivery of key brand and commercial moments in store through flawless execution and service excellence
  • Foster a collaborative environment by building a continuous feedback cycle with retail support teams
  • Provide consistent coaching, training and mentoring of store teams
  • Employ store performance metrics to maximize teams individual and collective development
  • In partnership with Human Resources, execute performance and career path development for all team members
  • Build and foster relationships with key partners within Canadian retail team

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

  • Advanced proficiency in software applications such as MS Office
  • Strong retail management skills (fiscal and operational)
  • Excellent verbal presentation and written communication skills with strong command of English language
  • Strong engaging leadership skills that quickly create long term sustainable relationships built on trust, integrity, and understanding
  • Ability to portray a confident and winning attitude in challenging business interactions
  • Strategic, self-starter who thrives in a fast-paced and unstructured environment
  • Knowledge and understanding of profit and loss statement and store Key Performance Indicators to make commercial decisions based on sound financial judgment. 
  • Excellent time management and problem-solving skills as well as the ability to use good judgment and make strong independent decisions
  • Excellent relationship-building skills at all levels of the organization, and sensitivity to the effects of change. 
  • Ability to travel up to 75% of the time (regionally)

 

Requisite Education and Experience / Minimum Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree from a college or university
  • 6+ years related experience and/or training, or equivalent combination of education and experience
  • Minimum of 3 years people leadership experience

  • The anticipated low and high end of the base pay range for this position is $99,900 - $120,000. Actual salary will be based on various factors, such as a candidate’s experience, qualifications, skills and competencies, and proficiency for the role.
