Warehouse Shift Manager - 2nd Shift (Mt. Comfort, IN.)

Located at our Mt. Comfort, IN. facility, 10 minutes east of Indianapolis

2nd Shift, 2:30pm - 11pm, M-F

Purpose:   The Manager is responsible for monitoring, training, developing, communicating and supporting the staff. Ensure all orders are processed to customer requirements and sent to shipping in a timely manner. Ensure all job duties are being fulfilled daily. Demonstrate initiative by identifying opportunities or problems and being proactive in resolving them. Display effective leadership by motivating their staff thru solid communication. Communicates in a clear, concise and effective manner.

Be a team player who willingly assists others. Is receptive and responsive to change, understands and supports the vision and direction of the company. Exercise sound and practical judgement, accepts responsibility for decisions. Has the ability to bring assignments to a timely completion.

 

Key Responsibilities:  

  • Ensure safety and quality are discussed and practiced daily.
  • Ensure that all rush orders are completed by the shipping deadline. Track waves and keep a good work flow thru Team Business and the shipping departments. Communicate with other shifts and departments and adjust labor as business dictates. (Utilize key associates to ensure these tasks are complete-follow up, and manage time)
  • Manage the floor through time edits, Kronos, performance audits, maintain new occurrence spread sheet, coaching sessions, coach the coach,
  • Provide 6 week rolling average updates weekly with supporting documentation.
  • Ensure payroll is submitted timely and accurately (daily and weekly)
  • Ensure Reviews, feedbacks and change of status forms are complete, timely and detail oriented
  • Follow up on any and all quality issues (errors/chargebacks)
  • Partner with customer service to ensure all scripting is clear and concise
  • Have a clear understanding of UPH and CPU
  • Must exhibit Management behaviour by consistently following department and facility rules. Must work well with others, display respect and professionalism
  • Innovation and change-Must have good problem solving skills and the ability to handle high pressure situations calmly and collectively. Needs to be willing to keep an open mind and seek out new opportunities to improve the department.
  • Understand every Team Business function/report/responsibility. Cross train all key associates to build depth and skills.
  • Ensure customer compliance and quality presentation on every order. (Educate, coach, follow-up)
  • Must be flexible to work overtime or any last minute weekend/holiday if business dictates. Must be flexible with work schedules in general as well as cross training opportunities in other departments.
  • Conduct daily start up meetings with safety topics and daily expectations
  • Complete special projects as assigned
  • Expected to be in the dept. 30 min before and after the hourly associates
  • Manage all costs within your control (payroll, supplies, chargebacks)
  • Ensure SOP’s and policies are communicated and enforced consistently
  • Must be able to read and write in English at a professional level.

Requisite Education and Experience / Minimum Qualifications: 

  • College degree in Business, Management and/or minimum 5 years management experience in Logistics.
