Director Digital Sales

 Purpose & Overall Relevance for the Organization:

 

Ensure sustainable and profitable market share and net sales growth in sales channel through maximizing of adidas share in eComm business across third-party platforms and retail partners. Define and execute our digital partner strategy, manage key eRetailer relationships, and driving revenue growth through data-driven optimization and digital excellence. Support the Digital Partner Commerce (DPC) team & driving the digital development of adidas accounts. Be responsible for optimization of our brands presentation, consumer experience by driving the positioning of all adidas brands in line with the Europe Brand & Channel strategies.

Act as the digital expert adapting our digital approach to win the consumer online across the adidas account’s digital touchpoints – incl. webshops & apps.

 

Key Responsibilities:

 

•    Define and own the digital partner commerce strategy across key platforms

  • Maximize growth of our brands’ qualitative share in adidas accounts eComm business
  • Develop & build a long term strategic partnerships with the winning DPC accounts in cooperation with WHS Cluster Leads to ensure implementation of our Digital strategy
  • Responsible for driving digital sell-through across all URLs of adidas accounts digital webshop(s) and apps
  • Analyze and monitor consumer demand, category trends and competitor assortment on account’s platform and identify gaps in current assortment content & availability
  • Implement data-driven strategies using insights from digital shelf monitoring platforms and retail analytics tools created, developed and maintained with the Data engineering team to optimize and support the decision making process for sell-out effectiveness
  • Execute Digital Shelf optimization and enhance the visibility of the adidas brand based on solutions developed by DPC in close collaboration with the account’s digital team, tailoring to maximize impact based on the respective specific consumer journey
  • Collaborate with brand and omnichannel teams to drive relevant digital marketing content – both for online & social
  • Regularly provide specific feedback regarding the accounts and digital trading performance to the Cluster SLT
  • Participate in key internal & external environments (e.g. Sell-ins, Account meetings, Sales Director meetings, Sales & Marketing meetings etc.)
  • Monitor competitors’ activities within Digital environment and propose win-win action plans to increase our market shares
  • Set clear team target to delivery a mid-year and yearly online business plans for all DPC focus accounts
  • Proactively track performance of selected DPC focus accounts while anticipating and managing trends and changes in performance
  • Stay ahead of digital commerce trends, platform innovations, and emerging partner opportunities
  • Drive internal education and alignment on digital partner commerce best practices and innovation areas
  • Successfully deliver the expectations of eComm compliance and eComm excellence in

     line with DPC projects and processes

  • Manage and develop the DPC team across all Cluster functions to achieve all relevant targets
  • Recruit direct report positions in alignment with Senior Sales Director WHS Central East Europe
  • Build, inspire, lead and drive a high-performance culture within the team focused on partner enablement, performance optimization, and innovation
  • Set personal objectives, targets, guidelines and assess all direct reports
  • Manage key talents' career and succession planning
  • Develop the functional and core skill of direct reports through regular coaching and

Mentoring

  • Physical presence and team perception across the Cluster locations with over proportional focus on Herzogenaurach to maintain equal leadership impact to all team members and to HQ functions.

  • Data and analysis requested by Sales Managers covered in 100%

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

 

  • Proven eCommerce expertise and experience with a track record of successfully managing  eComm business both in terms of Sales and Trade marketing Communication as well as digital shelf optimization, DTC strategy, and 1P/3P models
  • Capable to lead virtual teams with solid Change Management skills
  • High analytical skills for strategy development, business planning, decision planning
  • Strong interpersonal skills - very good communications and negotiating abilities as well as high presentation skills and relationship management
  • High degree of commercial and business acumen knowledge (e.g. sales, retail, trade marketing, customer service, finance and controlling)
  • Mental flexibility, initiative and determination, results oriented
  • Fluent English is a must [written and spoken]

 

Requisite Education and Experience / Minimum Qualifications: 

 

  • University degree preferably in Business
  • Functional: 8–12+ years of experience in digital commerce with a strong focus on partner or marketplace management
  • Industry: e-commerce, on-line stores, consumer driven, ideally apparel/fashion/shoes or FMCG
  • Exposure: sports/fashion/consumer goods
  • Advanced Excel, Power Point, Microstrategy
