Finance Manager, Canada Retail
Purpose:
This position is responsible for shaping and steering Canada’s retail Brick & Mortar finance strategy through effective planning, forecasting, and analysis. It partners closely with business partners and stakeholders, develops key performance indicators (KPIs) and ensures that financial decisions are aligned with both immediate and strategic goals.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead FP&A for the Canada retail channel by owning the store and market forecasting, planning, and reporting
- Partner with cross-functional teams in Canada and the US (Merchandising, Operations, Demand Planning, etc.) to align financial plans with commercial priorities
- Build and enhance scalable financial tools and models to enable deep-dive analysis of retail KPIs, store economics, and fleet performance
- Establish KPI definitions, reporting standards, and performance routines to track store productivity, profitability, and fleet health
- Drive business results by identifying risks and opportunities, performing root-cause analysis, and partnering on actions to deliver to plan
- Deliver concise performance narratives, insights, and recommendations to the Finance Director Canada and senior leadership
- Own annual budget and periodic outlooks for key retail cost lines including variance explanations and mitigation plans
- Develop business cases and ROI analyses for strategic initiatives (e.g., store openings/closures, refurbishments, labour investments, and commercial programs)
- Ensure data integrity and strong financial governance across planning and reporting
- Lead and develop team member by setting objectives, coaching analytical problem-solving, and driving timely, high-quality deliverables
- Continuously improve planning and reporting processes through automation, simplification, and standardization (Excel, SAP, Power BI, TM1/Cognos)

Knowledge Skills and Abilities:
- Demonstrated analytical skills and experience in FP&A, with a strong understanding of retail P&Ls and retail financial drivers
- Strong ability to work independently, communicate effectively and build productive working relationships across teams
- Highly effective at prioritizing and managing multiple assignments and cross functional stakeholders simultaneously under tight timelines
- Ability to synthesize complex analyses into clear, concise insights and recommendations for management and cross-functional business partners
- Strategic, structured approach to working with large, complex datasets across multiple sources to define requirements, ensure data integrity, and drive actionable insights
- Advanced Excel skills required; proficiency with SAP, Power BI, PowerPoint, and TM1/Cognos (or similar reporting tools) preferred
- At adidas we offer a Hybrid work policy which requires attendance in the office Monday through Thursday, with the flexibility to work remotely on Friday each week. For work requiring a high degree of collaboration or an in-person presentation, in-office attendance is required even on Friday.
Requisite Education and Experience / Minimum Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in finance or accounting from a college or university. MBA preferred
- 5-7 years related experience and/or training
- Advanced Excel skills required
- Industry specific experience preferred
- Solid accounting skills and experience preferred
- Experience in inventory management and/or demand planning a plus

The anticipated low and high end of the base pay range for this position is $95000- $125000 CAD. Actual salary will be based on various factors, such as a candidate’s experience, qualifications, skills and competencies, and proficiency for the role.
