Sr. Manager Buying & Planning (Retail)

PURPOSE

Join the team shaping the future of adidas retail across Canada.  As Senior Manager of Retail Buying and Planning, you will lead seasonal product strategies that reflect consumer expectations, strengthen brand relevance, and deliver strong commercial results. Through thoughtful assortment planning, inventory management, and strategic forecasting, you ensure our product offering meets demand, supports financial goals, and elevates the retail experience.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Lead the development and execution of seasonal merchandising strategies that align with consumer needs, market trends, and financial objectives.
  • Oversee assortment planning, open‑to‑buy management, and inventory flow to support strong sales, margins, and productivity.
  • Monitor market trends and competitive activity to inform future buying decisions and enhance product relevance.
  • Partner across functions—including Allocation, Finance, Marketing, Category Teams, and Visual Merchandising—to ensure cohesive go‑to‑market execution.
  • Lead, mentor, and develop the Buying and Planning team to support long‑term growth and high performance.

  • Advanced skills in MS Office and planning tools
  • Strong analytical abilities with understanding of retail math and financial metrics
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines with organized planning
  • Skilled in translating data into actionable insights
  • Ability to travel up to 25 percent as needed

REQUISITE EXPERIENCE

  • Seven or more years of related experience
  • Minimum three years of people leadership
  • Experience working in retail with responsibility for full‑price or off‑price business models

⦁    At adidas we offer a Hybrid work policy which requires attendance in the office Monday through Thursday, with the flexibility to work remotely on Friday each week. For work requiring a high degree of collaboration or an in-person presentation, in-office attendance is required even on Friday. The working location of this position is Woodbirdge, Ontario. 

The anticipated low and high end of the base pay range for this position is $100,000-120,000 Actual salary will be based on various factors, such as a candidate’s experience, qualifications, skills and competencies, proficiency for the role.
