Manager Global Customs (TEMP - 18 Months)

The TRANS4RM program aims to equip adidas with a future-ready enterprise resource planning (ERP) system, incorporating intelligent technologies such as data-driven AI, machine learning, and advanced analytics. Through the TRANS4RM Business Transformation, we are establishing the digital foundation to deliver a premium customer and consumer experience across all channels (Wholesale, Retail, eCommerce).

This role will be part of the 18-month testing phase, supporting the testing of the new ERP system, SAP S/4 HANA, for Market Europe (3 clusters – 8 zones – 29 countries) within the respective workstream area.

 

Purpose & Overall Relevance for the Organization:

To ensure customs systems are working correctly and comply with regulations. This role combines technical expertise, project management skills, and knowledge of customs processes.

We are looking for a manager to oversee testing for our software and systems. The ideal candidate should have experience in global logistics and/or customs processes. They should understand complex customs processes, ensure they meet business outcomes, identify gaps between current and future processes, and gather feedback from stakeholders.

 

Key Responsibilities[SH1] :

  • Develop and implement testing strategy, plans, and timelines aligned with project goals and objectives.
  • Oversee the development and execution of testing plans across Market Europe, ensuring consistency with implementation goals and timelines in each market.
  • Ensure alignment with Customs operational and Global Customs teams.
  • Collaborate with key customs stakeholders to identify system gaps and translate them into requirements.
  • Identify, document, and track defects, working closely with development teams to ensure timely resolution.
  • Generate and analyze testing reports, metrics, and dashboards to communicate testing progress and outcomes to stakeholders.
  • Assist in training end-users and stakeholders, ensuring they understand the system and its functionalities.
  • Identify opportunities for process improvements in testing methodologies and practices to enhance efficiency and effectiveness.
  • Engage with local experts to analyze the root causes of unexpected results.
  • Ensure best practices are applied and guide efforts to track, standardize, and enhance processes during the rollout.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

  • Familiarity with global logistics and/or customs environments, ERP systems, and data management tools.
  • Strong analytical skills to assess system functionality and identify gaps.
  • Experience in project management methodologies is a plus.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills to convey complex information clearly.
  • Ability to troubleshoot issues and provide effective solutions.

 

Requisite Education and Experience / Minimum Qualifications: 

  • Educated to University level or equivalent experience.
  • At least 5 years of working experience in supply chain management / customs business.
  • Fluency in English, Written and Spoken.
