PLATFORM ENGINEER
DIGITAL WORKPLACE / UNIFIED COMMUNICATIONS
PURPOSE
In today’s global organizations like adidas, enabling employees to communicate and collaborate in real time—regardless of location (office, home, meeting rooms, or while traveling)—is essential. This responsibility sits within the Unified Communications (UC) product, part of the Digital Workplace area, where this position is located.
The purpose of this role is to contribute to maintaining a state-of-the-art global fixed telephony infrastructure and services across more than 50 countries. This is achieved by liaising with key business areas (e.g., retail and corporate offices) to capture telephony requirements and ensure their effective implementation. The role also drives telephony standardization across the company and oversees day-to-day operations delivered through external partners.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
• Contribute to the implementation (deployment and management) of global telephony and global call center solutions.
• Drive the standardization of fix telephony: Offices, DCs, Retail Stores
• Drive EoL devices replacement and system’s upgrade
• Gather and drive implementation of business demands.
• Support global telephony projects.
• Supervise and control operations excellence, stability, compliance and day-to-day service delivery from external supplier.
WHAT WE ARE LOOKING FOR:
• College or university degree with focus on IT/Tech related areas, or equivalent combination of education and experience
• At least 5-year experience in IT
• 2 years of experience in relevant area
• Proficient spoken and written command of English.
• Strong proficiency in:
o Microsoft Teams administration (TAC), especially in Communications and Devices (MS-721 level knowledge/certification desirable).
o Cisco IP Telephony solutions
• Good working knowledge with:
o Contact Center solutions (AnywhereNow valuable)
o Ribbon SBCs (physical / edge, RAMP) or equivalent technology.
o Networking: DHCP, TCP/IP, DNS, subnetting, and firewalls
• Basic experience:
o Microsoft Azure (AZ-900 level knowledge/certification desirable)
o AD/Domain Controllers/Azure Entra ID.
o AWS.
o AI concepts and technologies.
• Excellent organizational, analytical and documentation skills.
• Proactive, self-dependent, problem-solving skills and hands on attitude.
• Ability to work in a physical and virtual team in a highly multicultural environment.
• Ability to cope with change, make decisions and act comfortably when confronted with risk, uncertainty, and problems.
• Aptitude to learn and implement new technologies, with a hands on and problem solving approach.
TECHNOLOGIES WE USE:
• Microsoft Teams ecosystem, platform, calling and devices
• Cisco IP Telephony: CUCM, Voice Gateways, Analogue Gateways
• Contact Center solutions: AnywhereNow
• Ribbon SBCs (1k,2k, SWe), and backend platforms: Analytics, RAPM
• Cloud services hosted in Microsoft Azure and AWS
• Azure Entra ID.
