Purpose:

Manage the integrity of all inventory processes and transactions, ensuring that the physical inventory in the DC is accurate within the DC’s warehouse management system. Collaborate with DC management and supervisors to correct processes, train employees and develop new procedures so that DC operations are always compliant with company policies and internal / external audit control requirements. Monitor the electronic interfaces between WMS and each host system and resolve errors that occur. Work with finance to confirm that the DC inventory is reflected correctly in the corresponding host system for each brand.

Key Accountabilities:

• Manage the inventory cycle count to ensure that all related targets are completed in an accurate and timely manner.
• Maintain current documented procedures for each step of the inventory control process to include tools and skills required to execute all inventory related transactions.
• Manage the required collection, reporting and feedback regarding inventory transactions using the WMS, host systems and excel.
• Assist in the development of all DC SOP’s that are to related, or impact, inventory transactions; ensuring that all SOP’s reflect current company policies and both internal and external audit requirements.
• Maintain full working knowledge of the WMS and provide support to the DC operations team to resolve all issues related to WMS inventory transactions.
• Ensure that interfaces between host systems and the WMS are monitored continually and identified errors are resolved or escalated promptly, working with local and global IT resources as appropriate.
• Maintain inventory balance between the WMS and each host system through the routine creation and monitoring of inventory snapshot reporting, procedural awareness and communication with the head office finance department.
• Ensure all department employees are properly trained to perform their jobs safely and efficiently.
• Maintain all Occupational Health & Safety Act safety standards, including all reporting of accidents, injuries, damages and potential threats to safety.
• Document and review with the Director of Operations and the onsite HR Manager any employee performance problems for possible disciplinary action.
• Other duties as required and directed by the Director of Operations.

Knowledge Skills and Abilities:

• Strong organizational and time management skills.
• Knowledge of DC operations, including storage methods and material flow.
• Excel, Outlook, Word and working knowledge of WMS principles.
• Strong work ethic and self-motivational ability.
• Proven ability to analyse large amounts of data effectively.
• Procedural awareness and the ability to break down complex tasks into manageable individual work streams.
• Excellent command of the English language, both verbally and written.
• The ability to communicate effectively, both on an individual level with team members and across departments within an organization.
• An aptitude for leadership and the willingness to develop this skill through mentoring and coaching.

Qualifications:

• Working experience of 3 or more years within an inventory control department, or with inventory control as a key function within a larger role.
• University or college degree, or the ability to demonstrate equivalent skills developed through work experience.
